摘要
Recombinant cell capable of converting bicarbonate to organic compounds with at least two carbon atoms utilizes a 16-step metabolic pathway starting with acetyl coenzyme A. Recombinant cell capable of converting bicarbonate to organic compounds with at least two carbon atoms utilizes the following metabolic pathway: acetyl coenzyme A (plus bicarbonate) to malonyl coenzyme A to malonate semialdehyde to 3-hydroxypropionate to 3-hydroxypropionyl coenzyme A to acryloyl coenzyme A to propionyl coenzyme A (plus bicarbonate) to (S)-methylmalonyl coenzyme A to (R)-methylmalonyl coenzyme A to succinate semialdehyde to 4-hydroxybutyric acid to 4-hydroxybutyryl coenzyme A to crotonyl coenzyme A to 3-hydroxybutyryl coenzyme A to acetoacetyl coenzyme A to acetyl coenzyme A (2 equivalents). Independent claims are also included for: (1) producing organic compounds with at least two carbon atoms by contacting a recombinant cell as above with a bicarbonate-containing nutrient medium; (2) producing acrylic acid or acrylate esters by producing 3-hydroxypropionic acid as above, dehydrating it and optionally esterifying the resulting acrylic acid; (3) producing methacrylic acid or methacrylate esters by producing 3-hydroxyisobutyric acid as above, dehydrating it and optionally esterifying the resulting methacrylic acid; (4) producing poly(meth)acrylic acid or poly(meth)acrylate esters by radical polymerization of (meth)acrylic acid or (meth)acrylate esters produced as above.
