The method involves driving an internal-combustion engine (19) e.g. petrol internal-combustion engine, and examining whether a minimum pressure prevails in a high pressure accumulator (17). Fuel is released from the accumulator into a combustion chamber of the engine when the minimum pressure prevails in the accumulator. The engine is controlled such that a time interval from the beginning of driving of the engine upto an injection process is similar with different environmental conditions and/or operating parameters of the engine. An independent claim is also included for a computer program comprising a set of instructions to perform a method for starting an internal-combustion engine.
