A movement joint seal comprises a longitudinal flexible strip 10, an anti-adherent material 19 and a sealing material 23 adapted in combination to maintain a sealed joint between relatively vertical B and horizontal A surfaces. The strip 10 comprises an upper limb 11 having an inner 15 and outer face and an outer limb 12 having an upper 22 and lower 21 face. The anti-adherent 19 material extends down over a surface of the strips upper limb outer face 16 and preferably passes below the bottom of the upper limb 14 into the cavity 20 formed between the upper limb 11, the outer limb 12 and the horizontal surface A. The anti-adherent material 19 provides a release mechanism for that surface of the upper limb outer face 16 behind the anti-adherent material 19, to disengage under tension from the vertical surface B to which it is initially adhered. The anti-adherent material 19 also minimizes the sealant 23 required to seal the outer limb 12 to the horizontal surface A and allows the release off the sealant 23 from the upper limb 11 if the horizontal surface A drops down. Preferably an additional inner limb (30, fig 4) extends from the outer limb to prevent the anti-adherent material from deflecting. |
