<p>The method involves executing an analysis of a program code (51), and determining whether optimizable code elements i.e. 32-Bit- Java(RTM: programming language)-Byte codes, are contained in the program code using the analysis. The code elements are transformed into another set of code elements i.e. 64-Bit- Java(RTM: programming language)-Byte codes, when the former code elements are contained in the program code, where the latter code elements are executable on a virtual execution unit e.g. 16-bit- Java(RTM: programming language) virtual machine. An independent claim is also included for a device for optimizing a program code for a portable data carrier, comprising a processor.</p> |
