A liquid crystal display is provided to improve uniformity and luminance of light, which will be supplied to an LC panel, by installing a diffusion plate of a structure capable of diffusing/condensing the light. A liquid crystal display comprises a liquid crystal panel(101), a light source(102), a diffusing plate(103,104), a diffuse sheet, and a light concentration pattern(103e). The diffusing plates diffuse and condense light emitted from the light source. The diffuse sheet is arranged in an upper part of the diffusing plate, and diffuses the light from the diffusing plate. The light concentration pattern is arranged in an upper part of the diffuse sheet, and condenses light from the diffuse sheet. A first area(103a) of the diffusing plate diffuses the light from the light source by a difference of refractive index with air. A second areat(103b) diffuses the light from the first area. The third area(103c) condenses the light from the second area by a difference of refractive index with the second area. The light concentration pattern condenses light from the third area. |
