A probability density is made available (2) for each in a series of stretches of road, where probabilities of occurrence are formed in corresponding stretches of road for each variable or value for a parameter to be optimized. Each probability density is integrated (4) so as to maintain a distributory function for each stretch of road over the parameter to be optimized. During each distributory function, each optimizing parameter value is determined (6) for the parameter to be optimized, while a corresponding value for the distributory function reaches an optimizing threshold value.
