The method involves dividing data on two electronic control units (4.1-4.2) or on two modules (1.1-1.2) e.g. software modules, implemented on the electronic control units that are different from each other. A uniform transparent interface (2) is utilized between the electronic control units. Data are written from each electronic control unit or module on the interface, and/or read from the interface through each unit or module. The interface is realized on a presentation layer or a higher layer of a communication protocol in accordance to an open systems interconnection (OSI) layer model.
