The method involves carrying out sorting operations in respective adjacent segments (42, 44). Overflow packages in one of the sorting operations are allocated to a storage module (46f) which is closed due to filling process. The overflow packages are deposited in one of storage modules (46a-46e), and are interposed in a sorting process of one of the sorting operations. Flat postal packages (52) are analyzed before sorting in a packaging time. Undetected postal packages are deposited in other storage modules during the analysis. An independent claim is also included for a device for sorting flat postal package using a sorting device. |
