The device has a folding wall arrangement (12) with strip-shaped sections that are extendable transverse to a direction of movement. A number of strip-shaped lamellae (18, 19) are attached to an armor (20), where the lamellae extend transverse to the movement direction and are fixed at the folding wall arrangement. Guide recesses (32) are arranged at respective edges of the folding wall arrangement, and are attached to respective guide rails (25, 26).
