The system has a compressor (5) arranged in a fresh air line (6), where fresh air is discharged from exhaust gas over an exhaust gas line (7). A turbine (4) is provided for driving the compressor. A secondary gas line (10), conveying device (11), another turbine (12), air intercooler (13), cooling devices (14), bypass line and controllable valves are provided to introduce a secondary gas flow, which has a temperature below exhaust gas temperature of the exhaust gas that is diverted from an internal-combustion engine (1) e.g. diesel engine, for cooling the exhaust gas into the line (7). An independent claim is also included for a method for charging an internal-combustion engine.
