<p>#CMT# #/CMT# Onto the flexible substrate (1) or on a coating (2) over it, a metallic aluminum coating (3) is applied. It covers both sides. The substrate is a rip-stopping material, especially a polyamide and/or aramide. It is a sheet. A further coating is added to the metallic coating. This is a polymer, especially an elastomer such as polyurethane and/or silicon rubber. The material forms a covering for e.g. a kite, para-glider, parachute, hang-glider, stunt kite, airship or a hot air balloon. A vacuum-coating method is used, with plasma pretreatment. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim IS INCLUDED FOR the method of manufacturing the material. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# A flexible material for e.g. parachutes, para-gliders, hot air balloons, hang gliders, kites, water craft and wind-driven machines. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The material has the necessary properties for aeronautical and wind-driven duties especially. It combines flexibility and rip-stopping with a sealed surface and resistance to sunlight. The aluminum coating is highly-resistant to the effects of ultraviolet light. Weathering by the sun and wind are therefore resisted.
