The method involves determining power input varying half cycle of supplying alternating voltage in a recurring sequence by an ignition angle of a leading edge. The ignition angle is averaged on the sequence corresponding to a predetermined value of the ignition angle, where ignition angle of the sequence is either maximum or minimum and the remaining ignition angles are generated according to the desired power input. An ignition angle control device is attached to a TRIAC (5), which is connected in series to an electrical load (1). An independent claim is also included for a device for reducing harmonic waves and inter harmonic waves for power control of electrical load attached at an alternating voltage network by a leading edge, comprising an ignition angle control device.
