The method involves working-off the remaining bridge pieces (10) by the finishing grinding disc (15) after infeed grinding with the rough grinding disc (1). The rough grinding disc performs solely a positioning movement (14), while the positioning movement of the finishing grind disc has an oscillatory movement superimposed on it. The exterior of a first workpiece is finish ground while a second workpiece exterior is rough ground.
