The method involves performing an assembling process including assembling stations. Information about currently executed production step at each assembling station is displayed at an associated terminal to a mechanic. The information is acknowledged after execution on the terminal and based on assembling of a motor vehicle, and stations and terminals are connected with a central shop server. Centrally controlled data is displayed by a visual representation of the assembling process. Individual assembly area is controlled by a controllable program control.
