STEERING COLUMN FOR A VEHICLE

A steering column in vehicle is provided to decrease the number of operation and the manufacturing cost without welding the support bracket and lower part jacket and without rivet jointing the mounting bracket and the support bracket. A steering column in vehicle comprises the shaft connected to the steering wheel of the vehicles; the jacket(10) in which shaft is built in; the mounting bracket(20) in which one side is combined in jacket, and the other side is fixed to the car body; and the first engaging portion and the combining member(30) assembling the second engaging part. The first engaging portion is formed in jacket, the second engaging part is formed in the mounting bracket, and the slot is formed in the first engaging portion. The slot is extended to the longitudinal direction of the steering wheel according to the central axis of shaft in one side of the first hole, the jacket is slid and absorb the shock energy when the first hole and vehicles collide.
