A liquid crystal panel display device and a method thereof are provided to prevent abnormality from being exposed to a user, thereby removing inconvenience and rejection which may occur during operation using a PC and a monitor. A display(133) has intrinsic panel resolution. A receiver receives a signal-processed image signal matched with the panel resolution and an additional signal generated when original resolution of an image for the image signal before the image signal is processed is changed. A display driver(131) drives the display. When the additional signal is received, a controller(140) controls so that the received additional signal is displayed on a particular screen. When the additional signal is received, the controller enables a blank screen to be displayed on the display.
