A method and a device for performing trick play of the encrypted data stream and a device thereof are provided to protect contents of a CP(Contents Provider) by implementing a trick play mode while storing the contents without decryption. An encrypted information position extractor(210) extracts position of encrypted information from a received encrypted transfer stream and stores the position of the encrypted information. A transfer stream demultiplxer(240) extracts encryption information and an encrypted data stream for the encrypted information by demultiplexing the transfer stream of the stored position of the encrypted information. A decryptor(250) decrypts a password of the encrypted data stream by using the extracted encryption information. A decodes(260) decodes a reference picture of the decrypted data stream.
