The present invention provides a transfer material and surface protecting sheet which can provide a molded article excellent in abrasion resistance and chemical resistance without causing cracks in curved parts of the molded article. The present invention prevents fluidity and stickiness on a protecting printed layer prior to irradiation with an active energy ray, even in an inline printing process. A transfer material or a surface protecting sheet of the present invention has, a substrate sheet, a protecti ng printed layer which consists of an active energy ray curable resin compositi on comprising a polyaddition reaction product having a urethane bond amount of from 6000 to 50000 g/eq as an effective ingredient on a surface of the substrate sheet, and an additional printed layer on the protecting printed layer or on the opposite surface of the substrate sheet.
