A selectivity transflective polarizing sheet and a backlight unit for an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) including the same are provided to improve the optical efficiency by minimizing the optical loss and to supply an LCD device having high brightness. A backlight unit(120) for an LCD includes a reflective plate(122), a lamp(124), an optical sheet and a selectivity transflective polarizing sheet. The lamp is arranged on the reflective plate, and the optical sheet is placed on the upper portion of the lamp. The selectivity transflective polarizing sheet comprises an isotropic material layer, an anisotropic material layer and a pattern, and the pattern is placed between the isotropic material layer and the anisotropic material. |
