A backlight unit and a liquid crystal display device having the same are provided to improve the image quality by maintaining internal temperature of a backlight unit uniformly. A backlight unit(120) includes a bottom cover(170), light sources and a light-source driving unit. The light sources are arranged at a regular interval at the bottom cover, and the light-source driving unit is placed at the one portion of the bottom cover to correspond with the one side of the light source. At the one side of the bottom cover, an air-circulation unit is formed to circulate the internal air and the external air. |
