A device and a method for managing time-shifted data are provided to separate and store a program, which is to be permanently stored, in a record list by listing and offering information of a plurality of programs stored according to a time shift function. A PVR(Personal Video Recorder) module(122) receives and stores a broadcasting program with time shift based on a user request. A user interface unit(106) receives a signal for requesting time shift and various kinds of information. A controller(102) detects, plays, and outputs time-shifted data from the PVR module by the user request. The controller records the played program as a new list when a recording signal is received from a user during playback of a time-shifted program.
