PSN-PZT CERAMICS FOR A HYPERSONIC SOUND SPEAKER APPLICATION

A method for manufacturing PSN-PZT ceramics containing cesium dioxide is provided to show high mechanical quality factor, electromechanical coupling coefficient and high piezo-electric constant and low dielectric constant. A method for manufacturing PSN-PZT ceramics containing cesium dioxide comprises the following steps of: preparing PSN-PZT(0.05Pb(Sb0.5Nb0.5)O3-0.95Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O3) oxide by using PbO, ZrO, TiO, Sb2O3, Nb2O5 and CeO2; manufacturing a specimen with the oxide and 0.001-0.5wt% of CeO2; wet-mixing and pulverizing the specimen at 220 rpm for 18 hours and drying the mixture for 8 hours; calcining the mixture in an alumina crucible at 850°C for 2 hours to obtain PSN-PZT; pulverizing the calcined powder and molding the powder in a circular metal mold; sintering the molded material at 1250°C for 2 hours in a double-layered alumina crucible; and obtaining PSN-PZT ceramics containing CeO2.
