A digital image processing device equipped with an ID setting function and a control method thereof are provided to enable a user to play an image based on a thumbnail image by displaying an ID information list in a thumbnail style. An ID information setting unit(132) provides an ID information setting menu and sets up ID information according to user input. A list provider(133) lists up the set ID information and provides the listed ID information. A controller(131) plays an image corresponding to the ID information selected from the listed ID information. The list provide provides a list comprising a table, which includes an ID number and time.
