A charge control apparatus for a high voltage battery is provided to improve fuel efficiency at low speed by lowering battery voltage through selection combination of a plurality cells. A charge control apparatus for a high voltage battery is composed of a cell controller(10), a BMS (Battery Management System)(11), and a DC/DC converter(12). The high voltage battery is made of a plurality of cell (A-D,H), and a SOC (State Of Charge) of a plurality of cells is monitored by the cell controller. The cell controller transmits SOC of a plurality of cells to the BMS through the CAN (Controller Area Network) communications. The BMS combines and divides a plurality of cells selectively according to the SOC of a plurality of cells. A DC/DC converter applies a current to a plurality of battery cells in charging and discharging.
