<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display system that can lighten processing loads on respective devices constituting the image display system and improve the total throughput of the system. <P>SOLUTION: According to input control information, two out of a picked-up real space image, an input image, and a selected OSD display image are selected and put together. According to a set operation mode, control information for an OSD control means and a first composing means is generated to control operations of the OSD control means and first composing means. A virtual space image to be put together over the real space image is drawn on a memory. According to the input control information, the real space image and virtual space image are put together. The OSD display image generated according to the input control information is superimposed on an image to be transmitted to a display device with an imaging function. According to the set operation mode, control information for a second composing means and a superimposing means is generated to control operations of the second composing means and superimposing means.
