<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure stability of an image when the resolution of a toner image is enhanced. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming device that is instructed to output resolution switching makes decision associated with the resolution instructed by the operation by a user or on a display section or a printer driver, that is, whether it is a 600 dpi output or a 1,200 dpi output (S1, S2). The device executes adjustment of real time gradation once in 10 images (S4, S5, S6) in case of 600 dpi (S3 is Yes), and once in 5 images (S7, S8, S9) in case of 1,200 dpi (S3 is No).
