<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective filter for a liquid crystal display device, minimizing the influence of heat when the liquid crystal display device is exposed to high temperature environment. <P>SOLUTION: This protective filter 120 contains includes a heat shielding layer composed of a transparent base material 130, and a metallic compound thin film and a transparent metallic thin film formed alternately on the transparent base material 130.
