PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load cell, a strain element for a load cell, and a meter that are capable of reducing manufacturing cost while preventing lowering of metering accuracy. SOLUTION: The strain element 6 for a load cell has its shape of a rectangular flat panel wherein a pair of cutouts 6a are provided extending from right and left edges at the center in the longitudinal direction of the flat panel to the center in the horizontal direction of the flat panel and having a shape symmetric with respect to the center in the right and left direction of the flat panel. The strain element is composed of: a fixing section 62 with a front end side of a strain element part 61 sandwiched by the pair of the cutouts 6a fixed to a base; and a movable section 63 with load applied to its rear edge side.
