PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die casting die and a die casting method with excellent working efficiency capable of sufficiently preventing a broken chill layer from flowing into a cavity part. SOLUTION: A gate part 2a for making a cavity part 1a communicate with a runner part 3a has first and second plate-like spaces 2a(13), 2a(23) extending from first and second gates 2a(12), 2a(22) to first and second runner connection parts 2a(11), 2a(21), and first and second slit-like spaces 2a(14), 2a(24). The first and second plate-like spaces 2a(13), 2a(23) have a sectional shape substantially same as the sections of the first and second gates 2a(12), 2a(22) cut vertically in the flowing direction of a molten metal as a uniform sectional shape cut vertically in the flowing direction of the molten metal.
