PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element which has superior characteristics of low-voltage driving, long life, heat resistance, etc., and emits blue light, and to provide a material used therefor. SOLUTION: The material for the organic electroluminescent element consists of a 9,10-N,N'-aryl-dicarbazolyl anthracene compound and 2,7-N,N'-aryl dicarbazolyl fluorene, or a spirofluorene compound.
