A device maintaining method comprises: reading the maintenance control files from an outside storage apparatus through a common physical interface; automatically executing a maintenance operation according to the commands of the maintenance control files. A system and device use the method. The present invention could complete maintenance operations automatically on the device-near side, without additional computer, and without additional manual operation, thereby reducing the maintenance cost.
