<p>A process for toner production in which colored resin particles can be dried highly efficiently in a drying step without aggregating and/or fusion-bonding together or without fusion-bonding to an inner part of the dryer, and which is reduced in the cost of a fuel for the drying, has excellent productivity, and gives a toner having excellent printing performance. The process for toner production comprises a step in which colored resin particles are formed by a wet process to obtain an aqueous colored-resin-particle dispersion, a washing step in which the colored resin particles in the aqueous colored-resin-particle dispersion are washed with washing water to obtain an aqueous colored-resin-particle dispersion, and a drying step in which the aqueous colored-resin-particle dispersion is dried to obtain colored resin particles. In the washing step, the colored resin particles are washed until filtration of the aqueous colored-resin-particle dispersion regulated so as to have a given solid concentration gives a filtrate having an electrical conductivity of 1,000 µS/cm or lower, whereby an aqueous colored-resin-particle dispersion is prepared. In the drying step, the aqueous colored-resin-particle dispersion thus prepared is fed to a pulse-impulse wave dryer and dried. The colored resin particles obtained through the drying have a water content of 0.5 wt.% or lower.</p> |
