<p>A dumbbell with a selectable number of weight disks (1) includes a handle (2) with pins (6) projectable in opposing directions, a base assembly (4) for accommodating two sets of weight disks (1) standing on edge and provided with openings (14). The projection lengths of the pins are stepwise selectable in order to permit selection of the number of weight disks (1) supported on the handle (2). Neighbouring weight disks (1) have mutually engaging connecting means (8) which axially interconnect the weight disks (1) but which permit radial separation. According to the present invention, the weight disks (1) are planar with a circular, unbroken peripheral edge (15) and with the openings (14) located centrally. All connecting means (8) have a longitudinal centre line which coincides with a diameter line for the weight disks (1) and with the permitted radial displacement direction between two neighbouring weight disks.</p> |
