A manual card reader (1) comprises a slot frame (3) with a recess provided in the slot frame (3) in the card insertion direction (F) to allow insertion or removal of a card (5). A card (5) is inserted into the slot (2) to a holding point through the recess (4) and is taken out therefrom. The manual card reader (1) further comprises a shutter (6) that prevents insertion of a foreign object beyond the recess (4) into the card reader (1). A first locking device (7) is detachably provided at one end of the shutter (6). A second locking device (8) is detachably provided at the other end of the shutter. <??>The two locking means (7, 8) applied to the shutter (6) provide stronger locking at both ends of the shutter (6) for reliably preventing the card reader (1) from insertion of a foreign objects from outside of the machine without increasing manufacturing costs. <IMAGE> |
