<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control an operating state of a circuit block so as not to exceed a predetermined maximum power consumption value of a semiconductor integrated circuit device. <P>SOLUTION: The device includes a plurality of circuit blocks and a power control circuit. Each of the plurality of circuit blocks has a plurality of operating states including at least a first state and a second state. Each of the circuit block operates according to its function in the first state, and stops operating in the second state. The power control circuit has a storage means which stores the maximum power consumption value that is referred to when the operating state for each of the plurality of circuit blocks is determined. The power control circuit determines the operation of the plurality of circuit blocks so as not to exceed the maximum power consumption value, and when the maximum power value is changed from a first value to a second value, the circuit enables the maximum power value to be gradually changed to a value between the first value and the second value. As a result, the number of sub-circuit blocks to be activated at a time can be suppressed, and the voltage variation caused by a current variation can be reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
