PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing uranyl fluoride (UO<SB>2</SB>F<SB>2</SB>) using a few processes by which the uranium resource is effectively used, corrosive wastes are not yielded and the amount of wastes discharged from the production processes is a little. SOLUTION: The method for producing uranyl fluoride (UO<SB>2</SB>F<SB>2</SB>) comprises a first process wherein a uranium compound is dissolved, a second process wherein a precipitant is added to the solution in which the uranium compound is dissolved to obtain the precipitate of (NH<SB>4</SB>)<SB>3</SB>UO<SB>2</SB>F<SB>5</SB>, a third process wherein the precipitate prepared in the second process is separated, collected and then dried, and a fourth process wherein the uranium precipitate dried in the third process is heated to be converted to uranyl fluoride by pyrolysis.
