Provided is an engine bench system including a test engine (1) coupled to a dynamo meter (2) by a coupling shaft (3) so as to execute axis torque control on the dynamo meter. A controller (5) is formed by an integration element having an integration coefficient (KI) in deviation (T12r to T12) of a dynamo meter axis torque instruction (T12r) from an axis torque detection value (T12), a differential element having a differential coefficient (KD) in the axis torque detection value (T12), and a proportional element having a proportion coefficient (KP) in the axis torque detection value (T12). The controller (5) subtracts the differential element and the proportion element from the integration element so as to obtain a torque control signal (T2). Thus, the engine bench system has a resonance suppression effect and can perform stable control even when the axis spring rigidity is greatly changed.
