PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a feeder more rationally by detecting characteristics (individual difference) of a feeder.

SOLUTION: A device 2 for inspecting characteristics includes an imaging unit 72 which images a component taking-out section 33 of a tape feeder 15, and an evaluating means of measuring a feed position of the tape based upon image data from the imaging unit 72, and evaluating characteristics of the tape feeder 15 by ranking based upon the measurement results.
