PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display device which performs control, according to the detection signals of signal light output from a plurality of remote controllers and is capable of performing the control different, according to the output sources of the signal light, even if the conventional general remote controller is adopted. SOLUTION: A plurality of light-receiving elements which are disposed at a plurality of positions and receive the signal light to output detection signals are provided to the video display device. When predetermined kinds of detection signals are output, from one or more of the plurality of light-receiving elements, in a state of displaying a predetermined specific screen (a multi-screen, or the like) by the video display part, a control part performs controlling which differs according to the output sources of the detection signals.
