PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manual paper feeder capable of easily and accurately recognizing the length in a paper feeding direction of paper of infinite form size positioned on a detachable paper retaining member, and an image forming device mounted with this. SOLUTION: The paper feeder for feeding the paper, i.e., transfer paper to an image forming part of the image forming device has a manual base 30 openably/closably provided on a side surface of a body of the image forming device and having a foldable extension guide; and the paper retaining member 31 detachably provided on an upper surface of the extension guide, and is provided with a scale 32 formed along a paper feeding direction on the upper surface of the paper retaining member 31. A distance L from the paper leading end position at the body side of the image forming device of the manual base 30 to the first scale is previously added to a numerical value given to the scale 32.
