PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the separation of a polycarbonate resin solution stably and efficiently. SOLUTION: The method for the separation of a polycarbonate resin solution comprises filtering via a metallic filter a water-in-oil dispersion-type emulsion containing a polycarbonate resin after undergoing polymerization reaction to effect separation of the emulsion into the polycarbonate resin solution and an aqueous solution, wherein the content of an unreacted dihydric phenolic compound dissolved in the water in the emulsion prior to filtration is put to control within the range of 0-0.3 wt.%.
