摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle collision avoidance support device securing collision avoidance performance when avoiding contact with an obstacle, and materializing incongruity sense reduction to a driver and drivability improvement. <P>SOLUTION: A collision avoidance operation means 3 performs collision risk determination between the detected obstacle in a one's own vehicle travel direction and one's own vehicle based on information of the own vehicle detected by a one's own vehicle information detection means 1 and information of the obstacle detected by an obstacle information detection means 2, and calculates control information for obstacle avoidance output to a brake actuator 5 according to a collision risk determination result. The collision avoidance operation means 3 controls braking force generated in the own vehicle by the brake actuator 5 by use of a collision avoidance limit distance &Delta;xctl2 determined based on a physical limit allowing the avoidance of collision with the obstacle, and an acceleration change rate limit avoidance distance &Delta;xctl1 determined based on an acceleration change rate and acceleration generated in the own vehicle by avoidance movement of the obstacle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
