PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retina projection display device in which the position of a pupil is detected following the motion of a user's eye, and the scanning direction of laser light is varied, thus enabling the user to view an image or letter information always. SOLUTION: The retina projection display device 1, which utilizes the Maxwellian view to directly project the image on the retina 3 via the pupil 2, comprises: an image data output part 10 which outputs digitalized data; a laser light source part 20 which outputs laser light according to the image data; an MEMS scanning mirror part 30 which is driven according to the image date and reflects the laser light output from the laser light source part 20 toward the pupil 2 of the user 2; a movable mirror part 40 which further reflects the laser light in an arbitrary direction; a pupil position detection part 50 which detects the motion of the pupil; and a movable mirror driving part 60 which controls the attitude of the movable mirror 40 according to the motion of the pupil detected with the pupil position detection part 50.
