PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict seat slide rails from being broken at the time of front collision and further restrict side shills from being fallen inside at the time of side collision in a vehicle body structure having seat slide rails arranged to bridge over the forward and rearward cross members. SOLUTION: There is provided a lower vehicle body structure 1 of automobile comprising a floor 3, side shills 5, front side and rear side cross members 7, 9 and seat slide rails 25 extending in a forward or rearward direction of the automobile to bridge over these cross members 7, 9. The seat slide rails 25 have a lower rail 27 with a bottom wall part and an upper rail 35 that can slide in respect to the lower rail 27. There is further provided a connecting bracket 11 extending in a forward or rearward direction of the automobile to connect the front and rear cross members 7, 9 and forming a closed sectional surface together with the floor 3 and the side shills 5. The connecting bracket 11 has a top wall part 13 contacted with or near the lower surface of the bottom wall part of the lower rail 27 and an upright wall 15 extending downward from the top wall part 13.
