PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for manufacturing metal mold, which can detect a fault of mold shape prior to manufacturing of the mold and can shorten a total period of mold manufacturing process. SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises a three-dimensional data generation device for the mold (1), a three-dimensional data generation device for the product (2), a product model manufacturing device (3), a model inspection device (4) and an analyzing device (analyzer block 5) which makes a decision on the mold fault specified by the three-dimensional data generation device for the mold (1) and has also a function to feed back the confirmed fault to the three-dimensional data generation device for the mold (1).
