PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a technology of a methane fermentation of biomass using residual sludge extracted from digestive fluid after methane fermentation for the methane fermentation, by highly condensing microorganisms in the residual sludge extracted from the digestive fluid to efficiently increase hydrolysis activity of the whole system. SOLUTION: There are provided the methanation method of pressurizing residual sludge after the methane fermentation with gas, reducing to the atmospheric pressure, and using the fraction containing the floated residue for the methane fermentation, and the biomass treatment facility 1 having a pressurizing tank 6 pressurizing the residual sludge after the methane fermentation with gas, a dissolved-air floatation tank 7 reducing the pressurized residual sludge to the atmospheric pressure, and a return line 8 returning the fraction containing the floated residue to an acidogenesis tank 3.
