The device i.e. hydrodynamic torque converter (10), has a converter housing (12) with an impeller (23). A turbine wheel (28) is arranged in an internal space (26) of the housing. A lock-up coupling arrangement (42) includes a friction surface formation (44), which is connected with the housing. A component of an inlet region (68) and an outlet region (72) provides a closing surface (86), which sectionally surrounds damper spring units (76) in a radially outward manner. One of the units is partially guided in a friction-decoupling or friction-reduction manner with respect to the surface.
