<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a color printer which is hard to be affected by variations in engine characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The image quality is kept uniform regardless of variations in the engine characteristics by performing an image treatment without using image processing data which is easy to be affected by variations in the engine characteristics. At a low density section, visually large dots become conspicuous, and in order to avoid it, a large aggregate dot is daringly used in the low density section. Also, the saturation degree of a low saturation degree section is raised, and the luminance of a high luminance section is reduced. Thus, the low density data which is weak to variations is not used as much as possible. In addition, the range of colors being close to coloring material colors is increased. For example, the ranges of Y, M and C are made wider than a conventional method. Also, a color conversion in which importance is focused on black is performed in a vicinity of a gray axis. Thus, in gray wherein a change is easy to become visually conspicuous, the kinds and amounts of coloring materials being used other than a black toner or ink are reduced, and their concentration variations become hard to influence. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
