PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection system capable of detecting in a short time that a liquid is charged in a detecting section by using a small amount of a sample or an reagent. SOLUTION: The inspection system wherein a detecting section is charged with a sample and a reagent moved through a pathway in a microchip, to measure results of a reaction includes a liquid reservoir for storing liquid flowing through the pathway, a liquid detecting means for detecting liquid stored in the liquid reservoir, a detecting unit for detecting the results of the reaction from the detecting section, a detecting section-driving means for moving the liquid detecting means, and a controlling means for controlling driving of the detecting section-driving means. After the liquid detecting means detects liquid in the liquid reservoir provided downstream of the detecting section, the controlling means controls the detecting section-driving means to move the liquid detecting means to a position enabling the detecting unit to detect the results of the reaction from the detecting section.
