The method involves placing a product to be packed between an upper foil and a lower foil. The foils are sealed on each other in a seal area (9) and a corner (5) such that packages are isolated and shrunken. The foils are partially detached in an area of the corner after sealing and before shrinking. An opening slot is arranged in the sealed corner. The corner is detached and/or the opening slot is arranged in the foils during isolating. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a package including upper and lower foils (2) a cutting device for isolating a package from upper and lower foils, including a cutting head.
